Supporting Early Language Development Programme

Ensure the best start for all pupils in their language development.

This is a FREE OF CHARGE sustained, research based CPD programme aimed at EYFS and KS1 practitioners, such as the early years lead, English lead and SENDCo. It is designed to equip teachers and leaders with a practical pedagogical understanding of both typical language development and also how to support pupils who are struggling with language acquisition.

Participants will be expected to attend all 6 sessions.

All sessions will be held at Little Sutton Primary School, Worcester Lane, Sutton Coldfield B75 5NL

9.15-11.45am 17th October 2023 – What is language and how is it developed?

1.00-3.30pm 7th December 2023 – Supporting talk in schools

9.15-11.45am 30th January 2024 – Teaching words and making them stick

1.00-3.30pm 12th March 2024 – Identifying and supporting speech, language and communication needs

9.15-11.45am 23rd May 2024 – Making change: sustaining change

1.00-3.30pm 9th July 2024 – Sharing the school improvement journey
