Our primary conferences always provide outstanding learning opportunities linked to topical developments in primary science teaching alongside time to talk and share ideas with other primary practitioners.

The keynote speaker is Eleanor Belfield, HMI and Ofsted Science Subject Lead. The focus of the keynote will be on the findings of the Ofsted Science report, “Finding the optimum”, giving you an opportunity to consider the implications for teaching and learning in your school.

Workshop choices will include Linking literacy and Science, Purposeful practical work in Science, Linking numeracy and Science, How to teach harder concepts: electricity, forces, light and sound and Working Scientifically Planning for progression in enquiry. Additionally there will be a series of curriculum enrichment workshops looking at how science is relevant to our lives.

There is a Teacher Release Payment subsidy of 70% available to Maintained schools, making this a total cost of only £30.00. This is only available to the first 15 bookings.  Please email NMSLP@potteries.ac.uk to ask for the TRP code to be used at the point of bookingPlease note that this does not automatically deduct the fee immediately.  You will receive an invoice for the full amount and the Teacher Release Payment will be released back to the school once attendance at the event has been confirmed.
