We are proud to be the Newman Teaching A
cademy, a collective of well-established schools in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, delivering high-quality Initial Teacher Training in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire for both primary and secondary education. As a Teach First training partner, we are dedicated to nurturing reflective, values-led educators who put children at the heart of their practice and are equipped to flourish in the classroom and wider life of the school.
Our one-year, school-based, research-led teacher training gives you plenty of hands-on experience in the classroom, leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Sheffield Hallam University. You will train in one of our schools and gain second placement experience in another contrasting school, giving you a broad perspective and diverse classroom experience. An expert mentor will support you as you flourish in your practice.
You’ll also have opportunities to apply for Early Career Teacher (ECT) roles across our network and further develop your career within our growing Trust of supportive Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire schools.
